The National Internship Program is an early-stage career program conducted under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, supported by the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, and coordinated by the Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR). The program aims to enable young human resources to benefit from career opportunities provided by public institutions and private sector organizations. Through this program, it is intended to increase the employability of our youth, support equal opportunity in accessing career prospects, and expand these opportunities across all university departments.

Students applying to the National Internship Program are evaluated through a transparent and innovative method based on academic/professional, artistic/social, and athletic competency scores, taking into account their academic performance, skill-development activities, and overall achievements. Employers send internship offers objectively based on these competency scores, without viewing the identity or university information of the applicants.

In addition to its domestic success, the Program is followed with appreciation abroad and has been highlighted as a “best practice” by the OECD. It offers many young people the opportunity to experience professional life while still students and to gain early-stage career awareness.
